School Format

  • The Summer School is a free, 35 hours of face-to-face course and field activities. In addition to the 25 selected students, researchers and professors, other participant can attend the lectures after filling the registration form, which give access to the Zoom broadcast. However, they will not be able to take part in the field classes.

  • The language of the classes is both Portuguese and English.

Training Validation

Students will be organized into groups of 3 or 4 and will be accompanied by a tutor to elaborate an interdisciplinary research proposal on water (5 or 6 pages). They should develop a territorial approach that reflects engagement with tools and thinking acquired during the School. The proposals will be presented online for validation on May 06, 2024.

Who Can Participate?

â–ªStudents registered in postgraduate courses (Master or PhD) in an associated university, and who are developing their research in line with one of the subjects of the Summer School.
â–ª Students who can understand English to a competent level.
▪Students with at least a basic understanding of water and society debates and approaches, and with an interest in interdisciplinary work. This should be expressed in a Motivation Letter.​

How to participate?

Students interested in participating need to complete the Inscription Form before March 15st, 2024. They must attach a brief CV (1 pages) and a Motivation Letter (1 pages). The letter should express their interest in the training in relation to one of the proposed subjects of the Summer School as well as in relation to their own research.

Those interested in participating as a listener, in remote format, with access to the broadcast of the lectures, can register until 1st April. The face-to-face option has been closed since 15 March 2024.

Candidates will be evaluated by a Scientific Committee and the results will be announced by 22th of March. The selection process will consider diversity between the different disciplines and proposals.

Certification

The participation will consider certification and the participants will have the possibility for the School to count as formal credits on their current program of learning
